In the first and second books of the Bible Belles series, Rooney Cruz, the Bible Belle of our time finds peace, comfort, guidance, assurance and wisdom through the power of prayer and the power of patience.   These two superpowers equip Rooney to becoming a real superhero- a Bible Belle.

Rooney learns through Hannah: The Belle of Prayer that bringing all our cares and anxieties to the Lord in prayer is one of the superpowers we need to overcome.   “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6).

Moreover, in the book of Esther: The Belle of Patience, Rooney learns to wait patiently for God’s guidance and perfect timing.  “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” (Psalm 37:7)

Nevertheless, in the third book, Abigail: The Belle of Bravery, Rooney is confronted with a real tough situation. The story begins when Rooney sees her brother Sam being mean and unkind towards a neighbor.  Can she be brave enough to do the right thing?  Bravery is an indispensable trait that a real superhero- a Bible Belle possesses.

Mari appears again to help Rooney in her struggle. They travel back to biblical time and there she meets Abigail: The Belle of Bravery.  Rooney learns to do the right thing boldly as she relates her situation to Abigail’s story. She learns to bravely face any problem trusting God will never leave her nor forsake her. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Rooney Cruz is a fun character in the Bible Belles series who meets Hannah: The Belle of Prayer, Esther: The Belle of Patience and Abigail: The Belle of Bravery to equip her with the powers she needs to use in her everyday life.
