How to Share the Word of God
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:20
We all know that this Bible passage tells us that we are Christ’s ambassadors here on earth — to represent Christ and to share the gospel to every creature. However, sharing the gospel to your family, relatives, friends and co-workers tends to be hard and challenging sometimes due to the fear of embarrassment or rejection. But, as a true believer, we should obey what God has taught and commanded us to do; and we should be more serious about this matter to fulfill God’s Word.
So what are you waiting for? Fulfill His command and don’t be afraid to start sharing the gospel with the people around you with these tips.
Be proud of your faith.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” – Romans 1:16
Don’t be embarrassed to tell about your faith to everyone. Stand before others and tell that you are a Christian — bring and read your Bible everywhere, don’t be ashamed to pray in front of others, especially when you eat. Doing these actions will show that you are proud of your faith as a Christian — this will also set an example to the people around you. “If you stand before others and are willing to say you believe in me, then I will tell my Father in heaven that you belong to me. But if you stand before others and say you do not believe in me, then I will tell my Father in heaven that you do not belong to me.” – Matthew 10:32-33. You can also share the gospel through wearing faith-filled shirts, accessories or even a tote bag to draw the attention of the people around you or the people you meet. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15
Pray for wisdom and courage.
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13
Pray and ask God to give you the courage and strength to share His good deeds to the people around you. Ask Him to keep the fire in your heart alive to testify about the goodness of His Words and Promises. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5. Pray for your coworkers, family and friends and ask God to save them and touch their hearts to draw near to Him. “When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:25-26
Testify about God’s grace.
“My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. – Psalm 71:15-16
Share the goodness of the Lord to your unbeliever loved ones, friends or coworkers whenever you have the opportunity. Tell them how God saved you from the wrath and sin. You can also invite them in your home for a dinner or share a cup of coffee with them. Pick a good conversation starter and talk to them about your faith. “Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” – Mark 5:19. Testify about His good works in your life and blessings such as your family or job. “My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long.” – Psalm 35:28 You can also post your testimony through your social media pages and let everyone know how He changed your life and how precious it is to be with God always.
Let God shine through you.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10
Our life reflects to God, so whatever we do will always reflect to the one that we serve. So, live your life according to His Will and Word. Show kindness, practice patience and do good deeds for everyone. Be a good steward of God’s blessings and be a blessing to others. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16. Remember, to be very careful with your words, do what God wants us to do and manifest the fruit of the Spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23
Thus, God has a greater reward for us if we do these things even if we are rejected or not. “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” – Hebrews 13:16 And, our only task is to plant or water the seeds by sharing the gospel to the unbelievers and God will do the rest. He will help the seed grow and He will be the one to guide it. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” – Matthew 5:11-12
