5 Steps To Revamp Your Bedroom
“My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” – Isaiah 32:18
We spend most of our time in our bedroom, this is where we start and end our day. It is our refuge, a safe haven and our sanctuary after a long, tiring day of work or school. However, our bedroom gets messy, dull and boring sometimes; and we find ourselves struggling to have a goodnight’s sleep because of our surroundings. So, as the Spring season is coming — this is the perfect time to clean and revamp your room to make it much better and comfortable. Fortunately, there were easy and affordable ways to revamp your room over the weekend or the spring break. Here’s how.
Play some music.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” – Colossians 3:16
Listening to music while cleaning or decluttering your room can make you more happy and productive. Worship God by singing some songs to Him, sing your heart out while cleaning and let His Words motivate you.“Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.” – Psalm 95:1. Praise Him in everything you do and thank Him for giving you strength to carry on your task. “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” – Psalm 101:1-4
Declutter and clean your room.
“A time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away.” – Ecclesiastes 3:6
Open your windows and air out your room. Prepare the things that you will need to clean and declutter your space. Start with your nightstand and clear out your drawer. Sort your things into three categories such as the thing that you will keep, throw and donate. Then, clean out your drawers, put back all the things that you will keep and organize it. “Let all things be done decently and in order.” – 1 Corinthians 14:40. Repeat these steps on your shelves, cabinets and closet. You can also use bins, baskets and trays to organize your space. “She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” – Proverbs 31:27
Use a good quality of bed spread and linens.
“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” – 1 Corinthians 4:2
Sometimes, the bed is the focal point of the room and it should be attractive yet comfortable. So, change your linens and add a pop of color to your room by putting a throw blanket on the edge of your bed. Thus, invest in a good quality bed linens where you can use all year round and that has reversible sides such as Newlake Quilted Throw. Spend your money wisely and be a good steward by keeping only the things that you will need in your room. “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.” – Proverbs 25:28. Thus, if you also have time, you can make your own bedspread by crocheting some yarn. This activity is perfect for housewives or the elderly that have a lot of free time.“She makes her own bedspreads. She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.” – Proverbs 31:22
Surround yourself with nice things.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” – Deuteronomy 6:5-7
Keep yourself inspired and motivated by surrounding yourself with nice and godly things such as Scripture arts, canvas, 2020 Christian Calendar and Golden Bible Verse Throw Pillow Cover to remind you of God’s faithfulness and love to you. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16. Redecorate your bookshelves by piling books, adding figurines and other knick knacks. “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” – Proverbs 24:3-4
Keep your space warm and cozy.
“Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.” – Psalm 119:76
Create a warm and inviting space by hanging string lights or by dimming your lights. Having an inviting and comfortable space allows you to relax and recharge while you are at home. Put a fuzzy and cozy blanket like RHF Sherpa Blanket on your couch or BlankieGram Healing Thoughts Blanket on bed and use it while you’re watching TV, reading some books or while you are sleeping. “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” – Psalm 4:8. Lastly, don’t forget to invite God’s Presence in your room by praying and having devotion with Him. Ask for comfort, protection and lift everything to Him. “Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.” – Psalm 119:76.
Thus, end your day with thanksgiving and sleep with peace of mind that God will secure and protect you. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
