God Can Turn Our Sorrows into Dance!

Each one of us has a cross to bear at some point of our life.  A cross to bear is inevitable in this life’s journey.  Nevertheless, when your burden seems so heavy and unbearable and you’re on the verge of giving up, look to the God of hope—the author and finisher of our faith.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

In the movie A Cross to Bear, Danielle Deadwyler portrays the role of Erica Moses, a young woman who has big dreams for the future, but life’s circumstances seem unfair. She is abandoned by her mother, dumped by her boyfriend (without knowing the she is carrying his child in her womb).

Nowhere to turn to Erica is forced to live in an abandoned building with her newborn child and other homeless people.  Erica hit the rock bottom… it’s the darkest and deepest moment of her life when she wakes and finds herself in a Woman’s Shelter and finds out that she lost her baby in one tragic night due to her neglect (she passed out due to too much drinking).

Joan ((Kim Fields) is a former nurse who runs the women’s shelter called Joan’s Home, a place of refuge to help young female runaways, refugees and vagabonds. Joan tells Erica how she found her on the streets and brought to the house frantic and distraught.  Will she find forgiveness?  Will she be able to bear the cross? Will she be able to pick up the broken pieces of her life and live again?

With the help of the people in Joan’s Home, she fights to get her life back and builds relationships that will transform her life forever. Knowing that you are not alone bearing your cross gives you a sense of comfort, a sense of belonging — a boost that gives you strength to carry on.

A Cross to Bear is a must-see film!  It is a heartwarming story that conveys a powerful message that you are not alone to bear your cross.  With the help of God and the people around her, Erica gets back on her feet.  God in His unconditional love can turn our sorrows into dance.

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.  Psalm 30:5

You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.  Psalm 30:11
