Being a Christian means to be a part of a fellowship of believers who work together to love and serve the Lord and each other.  And to build friendships with fellow Christians is one of the most encouraging things for your faith — as the Scripture says in Psalm 133:1, “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” 

Here are helpful tips to encourage you and your Christian friends to have a closer walk with God.

1. Read the Scripture with Your Friend

God speaks to us through His Word, and reading the Bible is how we listen to His Voice to learn about His promises and His instructions to live out our faith.  Invite your friend to have a cup of coffee or tea and read the Scripture together so that both of you will grow in God’s love and wisdom.

2.  Give Your Friend Notes of Encouragement

Encourage a friend with a book “Friendship Promises” which is a meaningful gift book for both of you and your friend. God is faithful and He answers our prayers.  And one of the most encouraging things you can do for your friend is to pray for them. Ask them to write their prayer requests on a sticky note and include them in your daily prayers.  Offering them prayer is a gesture that you really care for them.

4.  Send Your Friend Inspirational Greeting Card

Sometimes you are too busy to catch up with a friend and meet them in person. So consider sending your friend with inspiring thinking of you greeting card that you appreciate your friendship, you miss them and you pray for them.  Inspirational greeting cards with written words of encouragement can brighten up and bring delight to your friend.

5.  Creatively Worship God Together

Find something you and your friend love doing together to bring glory to God. For instance, if you both love singing, offer a song together in your church on a Sunday worship service. Or if you are both artistic, you can express the life-changing message of God’s love through the unique moments of Bible journaling – a creative and artistic way to engage with God’s Word while drawing closer to God.
