3 Qualities of A Christian Family
A Godly Christian family serving the Lord should have pure qualities. There is no perfect family, but you will need to strive to have a better one. However, if you live according to God’s Will and Word you can make a good and God-fearing family — where God is the center of your home and His Word is your family’s foundation. Thus, having these qualities in your family is one of the greatest blessings that you can receive here on earth.
Serving the Lord together.
“…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15
A Godly Christian family should unite in one accord and serve the Lord together. As a parent, you should cultivate your children’s faith and make sure your children will grow up in a faith and prayer filled home. Emphasizing your faith to your children is very important — teach and introduce the Gospel to them at their young age. Read them the Bible or some Bible stories before bedtime or in the morning before you start your day. Encourage them to pray with you and teach them how to pray. Serve the Lord together as a family and attend Sunday services and Bible studies regularly.
Manifesting the fruit of the Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23
This Bible passage states the fruit of the Spirit and we must manifest it as an individual or family. We are created in the image and likeness of God so, express love and practice kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. A Godly Christian family should learn to forgive if anyone hurts you, control your anger and let God’s love shine through you.
Spending quality time together.
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” – Deuteronomy 6:6-7
A Christian and a Godly Christian family value the time they spend together. They talk and express their love to each other by doing the things they love. Spend time with your family and do activities together such as doing art and craft projects, Bible journaling, do grocery shopping together or by having a picnic in the park. Fill your home with laughter, thanksgiving, praises and nurture your children with love and care. Talk about God’s love and faithfulness in your godly christian family. Share your stories and testimony to each other in your family.
Remember, our family is our source of strength, hope and love next to God. So, in a godly christian family, as a parent, build a home where your child feels happy, loved, secure and protected. Nourish them with kindness, the Word of God and always have a deep commitment to each other.
