3 Simple Ways to Keep Your Husband Happy

“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” – Ephesians 5:22

As a Christian wife, this commandment tells us to submit ourselves to our own husband.  And submitting yourselves means you need to show your love, respect and making your husband happy throughout your life. However, keeping your husband happy is a challenging task yet it is a very rewarding job that every wife should do.

Here are 3 simple tips on how to keep your husband happy.

Create a relaxing and comfortable home.

“My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” – Isaiah 32:18

Remember, you are the light of your home and creating a home where your husband is always excited to come home should be one of your prime concerns. Create a relaxing and comfortable home where he feels love, comfortable, peaceful and happy. Welcome him with a bright smile and kiss him every time he comes home. Bake some cookies or cook his favorite dish whenever he’s at home. Make your home smells good by burning scented candles and make it inviting by decorating your home with inspirational or Scripture wall arts — God’s word is very powerful, it can uplift your mood and can make you feel good.

Be a great listener, supporter and companion.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

You should be your husband’s great confidant and companion. Listen to his rants, stories, frustrations and happiness. Be open and honest with one another. Discuss different perspective respectfully and calmly. Support and encourage him in every endeavor and help him to build his dreams.

Have a quality time together, be romantic and take care of yourself.

“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” – Genesis 2:24

You and your husband became one flesh when you get married. So, the way you live will reflect to your husband — dress well, maintain a good diet, exercise regularly, have a great skin care routine and have an attractive and positive attitude. Spend quality time together and be romantic, surprise him with gifts, do grocery shopping together, have a massage date or simply a walk in the park. Read the Bible and always pray together before bedtime. Talk about God’s love and grace in your family.  Also, make him feel special on his birthday or in some occasions such as your wedding anniversary, Father’s day or Christmas.

Express your love and gratitude to your husband always, and take an extra effort to make him feel valued and appreciated. Above all else, serve the Lord together and commit your plans to Him as a family.
