A Beautiful Journey in God’s Word
Nowadays, Bible journaling is one of the most popular tools to meditate on the Word of God, where faith and art are combined together. It’s an awesome way to hone your God-given talent as you explore your faith, reflect upon your daily walk, recount God’s power and creativity, keep track of prayer requests and answered prayers, and provide a written testimony and legacy of God’s faithfulness in your life.
There is no guideline in bible journaling; the process is entirely up to you. Feel free to draw, color, and write in the margins of your bible about your thoughts and feelings on the Scriptures. You can even put into writing the questions you might have as you walk through the Bible. Or perhaps you can use a separate bookbound journal to rewrite the Scripture word for word to be able to connect with the bible verses and then illustrate your faith in every page using stickers, washi tapes, pens, water colors and other art materials. Whatever process you prefer, the purpose is just the same—to meditate on God’s Word, cultivate and strengthen your faith each day.
Bible journaling helps you memorize the Scriptures by heart, and don’t be scared to express your deepest thoughts and feelings in your Bible journal, after all God discerns our thoughts and feelings. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12
Bible journaling can also be a great way to build relationships with others. Connect with friends and church mates who also illustrate their faith through Bible journaling.
Bible journaling is your journey with God in a creative and artistic way. Look at the beautiful flowers, shrubs and the trees, the beautiful sunset, the amazing rainbow, the birds and the butterflies, etc. All those are created and designed beautifully and perfectly by God’s mighty hands. God Himself is an awesome Artist — the most amazing, creative artist ever to exist.
